I thought some of the points made in the labyrinth presentation today were interesting. When it was stated that labyrinths are meant to be meditative, I didn't really think much of it at first. However, later it was stated that we have to urge to follow the path despite the fact that there are no walls to dictate the path (usually a 2-dimensional structure).
I realized that maybe it could be meditative because there is no thought about where to walk. There are no choices or dead ends or cross-roads. You simply follow the path into the centre and back out. I felt like the fact that you simply follow the path that is already laid out and does not require any choices would allow you to think about anything else on your mind. You don't have to focus on getting to point B or making choices along the way. Focusing on other things in your mind would let you walk away with a clear mind. I think it would be very much like mindless wandering, but maybe even requiring less thought. After the presentation, I changed my mind to think that maybe it would be a great opportunity to clear your mind through walking.
